Why are you asking this type of question here instead of on the Abit forum over here? Looks like I’ve found my answer. I know I am missing a small step, but the mobo manual just says make the driver disc.

Question about configured RAID on an Abit IP35 Pro
I am failing somewhere: Do you already have an account? Then windows will not start – it gets to the loading screen for a second or two, then I get a fleeting BSOD and it reboots.
If you change your mind in the future, you will not have to re-install the OS. I would like to enable raid, reinstall Vista, whatever it requires Sign Prp Sign Up.

You have to set this up prior to installing the OS. However I have no issues booting an OS from the first 4 ports even with a drive connected to 5 and 6. Yes to both questions.
