Trying to implement a simple data transmition between two devices for an university project robot and a wireless hand-held device to monitor the parameters from the robot. My changes are hacky and somewhat application specific so I won’t post them yet, and it’s been a couple of months since I did the changes, so I may not recall everything, but here’s a quick off-the-top-of-my-head list: I’m very glad you got it working and that the code was useful to you. Same deal for interrupt lines IIRC. However, the receiver side never receives anything.

I did get the SPI hardware without interrupts to work. Thanks very much for posting this. If you can do that, you can post it here as an attachment, or email me privately. I have set up one to send data and one to receive.

Again, thanks for the original code. Update – I found a bug today in the driver. It includes definitions for special function registers and more.

Otherwise power back-flowed through that pin via a pull-up on the input I expect. I realized that it should not be too hard now. If No, then is it possible to compile your code with C18 compiler using different syntaxes or including more lib files which I may not be aware of. It also turns out that I can not use the frame number directly to check for duplicates since the transmitting device is battery operated and only wakes up once every 15 minutes.

Would your code be compiled only in C32 compiler? Not much, but enough to get my power use into the s of uA instead of the 3. Can you post the changes you made?

I know of mmicrochip person who has already done this and has it running on the PIC18, but they haven’t posted the code so I can’t give you that. You will have to make some small changes to the code as Max described to get it working on the PIC I have C18 compiler free version.

This is a small project running on the Explorer 16 development board with a 2.
