Rio Tinto supports Russian and Ukrainian workers | Defender of the Great Lakes

Rio Tinto continues to unravel its business relationship with Russia, including the disputed decision to take control of the Queensland refinery it owns with aluminum giant Rusal. In first-quarter production results released Wednesday, Rio Tinto chief executive Jakob Stausholm said the company was providing support for workers of Ukrainian and Russian descent and had committed $5 million ($6.8 million). Australian dollars) to humanitarian agencies. “We are in the process of terminating commercial relations with Russian companies,” Rio Tinto said.
