But it has drawn criticism from the Ukrainian community in Australia, who say it inaccurately portrays the two soldiers as equally guilty of the war.

Ukraine’s Ambassador Vasyl Myroshnychenko said it was “disappointing” that members of the Melbourne community were not consulted before its approval.
“The painter has no idea about the UK invasion of Ukraine and it is disappointing to see it happening without consulting the Ukrainian community in Melbourne,” he wrote on Twitter.
“He approves of Russia’s actions and imposes an obligation on Ukraine to accept attempts at destruction.”
“I’m going to paint on it. Very happy to make a video about it today,” he said in a statement on Sunday.
